Overcoming limiting decisions for growth and success

Are you tired of feeling like you're not good enough or doubting your ability to achieve success? If so, you're in the right place. All doubts, and negative thoughts are limiting decisions.

Now, you might be wondering, what exactly is a limiting decision? Some may refer to them as limiting beliefs, but in NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming), we prefer to call them limiting decisions. Why? Because a decision carries more weight and power than a mere belief.

When you decide something, you have the power to un-decide it. But if it's just a belief, where did it come from? How did it become ingrained in your mind? If you didn't consciously choose it, then you can't un-choose it.

It's important to understand that many of our limiting decisions were formed in moments where we lacked the resources or understanding to make a different choice. They could have been shaped in childhood or even in recent moments. The decisions we made at the time may have seemed like the best option based on our limited perspective, but as we grow and evolve, these decisions can hold us back.

Now, you might be thinking, "But Teri, I didn't consciously decide to believe these things. They were imposed on me by others." And I hear you. It might feel like these beliefs were forced upon you. However, you can't truly believe something unless you decide it is true. At the moment you made that decision, you may not have had the tools or experience to reject it.

But now, armed with knowledge and awareness, you have the power to challenge and change those limiting decisions.

It's important to note that our limiting decisions often operate on an unconscious level. They run in the background, shaping our thoughts, emotions, and actions without our conscious awareness. Even if you intellectually know that a limiting decision is false, it can still have an impact on your perception and behaviour.

Interestingly, limiting decisions can originate from various sources. They can be formed in childhood when we lacked the capacity to make different choices. They can also stem from our genealogy, as science has shown through epigenetics, we carry memories from our ancestors in our DNA. And yes, they can even come from past lives.

Now, I understand that the idea of past lives might be controversial for some of you. But remember, our unconscious mind operates in symbols and metaphors. Even if you don't believe in past lives, your unconscious mind might use them to represent deep-rooted beliefs and decisions.

At the end of the day, what truly matters is the impact these limiting decisions have on our lives. They can hold us back from achieving our goals, hinder our relationships, and limit our overall success. But the good news is that by uncovering and challenging these decisions, we can break free from their grip and create new, empowering beliefs.
